The strategic mandate of the Authority is to:
- Control traffic and enforce State and National laws that governs safe use of vehicles on roads in the State.
- Deter and apprehend road traffic offenders.
- Reduce road traffic accidents
- Provide facilities for training, education and research on roads transportation
- Identify, develop and promote new ways of traffic management.
